Documenting the Editorial Process

The standards applied to every article published under the Runalek Compendium name — from subject selection through to final editorial review.

01 — Foundation

Editorial Principles

Runalek Compendium operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

The publication focuses on everyday wellness practices — specifically the relationship between rest quality, sleep architecture, and the gradual management of body composition. Subject matter is drawn from published sleep studies, peer-reviewed nutrition research, and long-term field observation notes from contributing writers.

Runalek Compendium is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body. Every editorial decision — from headline framing to source selection — is made independently of external influence.

02 — Workflow

The Publication Process

01

Subject Identification

Each article begins with a subject identified from a recurring pattern in the broader field of sleep and body composition research. Writers are required to document the source of their topic interest — whether from published studies, reader correspondence, or observed habit-tracking data — before a commission is issued.

02

Source Review and Verification

Content published by Runalek Compendium is selected based on published nutritional and sleep research. Each piece undergoes independent batch verification for quality and labelling accuracy. All primary sources cited in articles must be accessible by URL or standard bibliographic reference at time of publication.

Secondary sourcing — interviews, field notes, habit-audit logs — is clearly distinguished from primary published research. Writers are prohibited from presenting anecdotal observation as established consensus.

03

Draft and Internal Review

First drafts are submitted to the editorial desk with a source list attached. The primary editor reviews for factual accuracy, tonal consistency with the publication's register, and compliance with the stop-word vocabulary standards. A second editorial review is conducted on all pieces prior to scheduling.

Structural feedback — section ordering, lede clarity, subheading logic — is handled during the second pass. Writers receive consolidated notes rather than iterative requests.

04

Health Content Standards

Articles published on Runalek Compendium are editorial in nature and reflect the writers' observations on everyday wellness practices. The content is not intended as professional advice, nor as guidance for the management of any specific condition. Readers with specific concerns about their daily routines are encouraged to speak with a qualified wellness professional.

All articles carrying nutritional or sleep-related claims are cross-referenced against published study abstracts. Where studies are preliminary or limited in scope, this is noted within the article body.

05

Corrections and Updates

When factual errors are identified post-publication, corrections are appended to the article within 48 hours of confirmation. The original text is not silently overwritten; amendments are noted with the correction date. Substantive updates that alter the article's conclusion are flagged with an editorial note at the article's opening.

06

Archival and Version Control

All published articles are archived with their original publication date and any subsequent revision markers. The editorial desk maintains an internal version log, referenced by article ID, accessible on request. This practice follows standards common to independent print and digital editorial operations.

04 — Scope

What This Publication Covers

Runalek Compendium focuses exclusively on the intersection of rest quality and everyday body composition management. Subject coverage includes: sleep architecture and its relationship to appetite regulation, circadian timing and energy balance, evening routine structures, bedtime window consistency, morning recovery patterns, and sustainable approaches to slow weight management.

The publication does not cover acute conditions, acute interventions, or time-sensitive personal health decisions. Readers seeking guidance specific to their individual circumstances are directed to speak with a qualified wellness professional before adjusting their daily routines.

We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any new habit or routine to your daily life, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.
